Resolved Question: Could you check my writing and correct my mistakes? - second part ?

it is a second part of my work. Thank you so much. "Licences and permits Some types of businesses may need licences, permits or registrations to operate and sell good or provide services. Some licences for nightclubs are obvious but for example a business which sells food between the hours of 11pm and 5am need a late hours catering licence. To create a great atmosphere in my coffee shop I want to play music for my customers however, it is not as simple as many people think because if I have the radio on and play music, I am breaking the law as I do not have their license to do so in public. To make sure I do not break the law I will have to pay the performing rights to the "Performing Rights Society. Legal responsibilities Careful attention needs to be paid to businesses’ staff and their rights. There are many laws affecting health and safety at work, paying and equal opportunities. Health and safety Stringent rules are set out to ensure that businesses do all they can to protect their workers. The main legislation in Britain is the Health and safety at Work Act. This sets the minimum standards which employers must maintain the working environment and workplace. This includes: • Businesses must provide all necessary safety equipment and clothing • Making sure that workers have regular brakes • Employers must provide a safe working environment • All businesses must have a written safety policy on display • All businesses must keep temperatures comfortable I must make sure that my own business meets all legal requirements, specifically health and safety regulations and food hygiene legislation. I also need to provide adequate washrooms and toilet facilities and create a hygienic and safe environment for my workers to work in. Contract of employment Anyone employed in the business within two months of starting work must received a contract of employment that clearly sets out their conditions and service such as duties, hours of work, job title and description, holiday pay, sick pay agreement, the amount of pay and how often payments will be made etc. Each contract of employment must include the name of the employer and employee and clearly shows all duties and responsibilities. Thinking about my own business, I must guarantee a contract of employment for each employee within two months should have a contract of employment that clearly sets out all conditions, duties and responsibilities. According to HM Revenue & Customs each employee within my business must be paid at least: - £5.73 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older - £4.77 per hour for workers aged 18-21 - £3.53 per hour for all workers under the age of 18 Discrimination Equal Pay Act 1970 – This Act states that I must treat both sexes equally. A woman employed in the same job as a man must have the same pay and conditions. Disability Discrimination Act 1995 –This Act states that it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against a disabled person by refusing to provide adequate services. The Race Relations Act 1976 states that it is unlawful for an employer to treat or fail to prevent the treatment of workers less favourably because of their colour, race, nationality, ethnic or national origins. As an owner of a business ,I must make sure I meet all of these requirements listed above. I should also remember that part-time workers must also be given the same rights and contortions as full-time workers. To meet The Disability Discrimination Act, my business must offer toilets for disabled people, menu in “Brail language” for the benefit of the blind people and each service provided by my business must be equally available for disabled people."  more

Resolved Question: Could you please check this for grammatical errors? - part 2?

This is second part. Could you please check this for grammatical errors? Thank you! "National/local laws It is extremely important to recognize that each business has a number of legal obligations. For example there is a number of insurances. Some of these insurances are compulsory for businesses like for example motor insurance if you run a company vehicle, while other insurance are optional like building insurance or keyman insurance. To run my business I will need the employer's liability insurance which is required of all employers. Resolved Question: Headteachers urged to make school dinner times more enjoyable to increase pupil take up: 'Eat ot die, kids' ??

School dinner culture change call Press Assoc. - Thursday, September 4 Headteachers have been urged to make school dinner times more enjoyable in a bid to increase take up amongst pupils. Schools secretary Ed Balls said schools needed introduce a "proper lunch culture" and treat pupils like "proper paying customers". He suggested scrapping scrapping "prison-style" food trays and replacing them with china, involving young people in creating menus and actively marketing healthy lunches to families. These measures have all been introduced to good effect in some schools already, which have seen a rise in take-up, he said. Other ideas include staggering lunch breaks and allowing pupils to pre-book lunches. This month sees the introduction of new rules which makes it mandatory for primary schools to provide meals with certain nutritional standards. Figures released in January showed that half of England's 17,500 primary schools had introduced the new standards nine months early. The rules will come into force for secondary school next year. Figures released in July showed that Jamie Oliver's healthy school dinners campaign was having some effect, with take up across English primary schools rising by 2.3% to 43.6%. The last time take up of school meals increased was in 2004 - the year before Oliver began his campaign. But secondary schools are still not following the trend, with the figures showing take up was down 0.5% this year. After Oliver's campaign won huge public support, ministers banned junk food from school canteens and vending machines and in 2006 the new rules to introduce robust nutrient standards were announced. Mr Balls said: "School catering is a really tough job and a culture change in schools and wider society of this size doesn't simply happen overnight. I understand schools' concerns about the time, effort and cost that introducing healthy lunches take. But the bottom line is six out of 10 secondary pupils are still not eating school dinners. Schools, parents, children and Government to tackle obesity together and we make no apologies for introducing tough nutrient standards." Resolved Question: Has anyone heard of the "3 Day Hospital Diet"/"Pre-Op Diet/where you lose 10lbs a week?

I've recently been told about it. You eat a very specific menu and due to chemical reactions in the body you lose a large amount of weight very quickly. The recipe is on this website: http://members.aol.com/malabeth/diet.html The theory is that the foods you eat that are supposed to create a specific metabolic reaction in your body. The chemicals boost your metabolism and help you burn fat at a higher rate than usual.... Aparently they use it in hospitals for people who are to have surgery..... What do you guys think to it? I personally don't see how it would work, only due to the low calorie intake.... Has anyone tried it? Know anyone who has tried it? Does it work? more

Resolved Question: How did the rate poison, Aminopterin get into the Menu Foods recalled products?

Two weeks ago, March 23, two New York State Labs announced and confirmed that Aminopterin had caused pets' death. Now no one is talking about it. No expert is coming out to relate to it and get to the bottom of this. Instead, everyone is jumping onto the China-bashing wagon. Is anyone out there really caring about the pets died of kidney failure? Melamine? No proof and never had any scientific tests shown it can cause kidney failure. Are we creating a China-hating culture? more
